The Goldfish Club
In a nutshell the club was formed n 1942 as an organisation for Aviators Rescued from the Sea and obviously at that time there were many people gaining qualification every day.
Since the war our numbers have decreased and now we are about 400 total.
The club is open to anyone that has ditched into the sea from any kind of flying machine including balloons and airships. Our membership is mainly RAF either serving or Ex-RAF with some Royal Navy and a number of overseas members again both military and civilian. Members partners also become members and remain so if their partners pass on.
We have a quarterly magazine and an annual reunion weekend somewhere in the UK and this years is being held at Scalford Hall near Melton Mowbray from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September. People either come for the whole weekend or just stay on the Saturday night for the more formal dinner dance.
We have a website
